What a great program. The kids were absolutely enchanted. The stories were perfect…the teachers as well as the kids loved the program. Lucille LePage tells a story with zest and warm enthusiasm. Her lively way with words and characters charms the children in her audience. The adults find her repertoire delightful and we appreciate her respect for the sources from which her stories are chosen. It was quite apparent from your stories and from your handling of the children that you are a real asset to the world of storytelling. There’s nothing stilted or condescending about her interaction with the children in her audience. …the children in Lucille’s audience are totally involved from the first moment of her presentation. The children were spellbound and captivated with your stories. Having pre-schoolers interspersed with ten and eleven year olds was a real challenge that only an expert could handle. You were magnificent in bringing this group together.
Your voice is marvelous. There is a warmth and concern combined with a sense of mystery. Your style was very quiet and warm, yet enthusiastic and animated. You stressed that it was o.k. to participate or to be a listener (positive reinforcement). I loved your props and your ukulele. It was fantastic that you tapped into their imaginations!
